tips and strategies on smart and successful AuctionWhiz marketing!
Target Marketing
If the housewife is your market, start auctions in the morning. AuctionWhiz
is located in the Pacific Time Zone so if you live on the east coast,
you might want to start your auctions a few hours earlier to arrive
in time for morning. For example, start at 7 AM in case you want to
be able to arrive at 10 AM Pacific Standard Time. Your auction will
appear at 8 AM and 9 AM in the other respective time zones. Remember
that all auctions end at the same time they start. In the evenings,
list items for working families and major ticket items for people
who make joint purchase decisions due to expensive price tags. The
seller has the advantage in knowing which times the highest traffic
occurs for a specific category.
Days
of the Week
Another important strategy is to know what days and times of the
week are best for your auctions. This is all based on your preliminary
research on high traffic and popular categories. For example, you
may have narrowed it down to Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings
for starting and ending auctions. If you list on Tuesday, Thursday,
or Friday evenings, then you'll run a seven day auction. If you
wish to list on Sunday evening, you'll list the item for a 3 day
auction to end on Wednesday evening. Just chart the categories and
a pattern will develop that will work for you.
Months
of the Year
The best months for auctions are January through mid-June and mid-September
through mid-December. The in-between months are traditionally vacation
months and buying generally slows down during this period. The week
after Christmas is also a good period for the obscure reason that
new computers, given as gifts, are being set up and installed. This
means that more people will be coming online and possibly visiting
a popular auction site, such as AuctionWhiz.
